Final Front Cover & Final Contents Page

This is my final front cover and contents page for my magazine. I have used the same green border for both pages to connote the normal colours associated with christmas. I used the colour gold throughout both pages to keep consistency between them. Also gold is a warm, rich colour that shows my school to be prestigious and smart. I have used red as that is also a christmas colour and stands out against the cream background. The garland and the snowflakes are both images to represent christmas and I think it is effective to use them as bullet points. I carried the snowflake over to my contents page to show consistensy and theme through my magazine. On my contents page I used a screen shot of my front cover and made the font of my article titles red so that it links to the sell lines on my front cover so its easy for my audience to navigate in my magazine. I again stuck to the gold font to show a link between both pages and carried over the school motto to give a proffessional approach to the magazine. My picture I used is of a student sitting at a computer with a folder, this shows the students at Beaverwdood are hard working and focused to there studies. My front cover picture isnt a mid shot, but I feel that with the whole of my model in the picture you can see her hands placed in a smart manner and the whole tree brightens up the picture. I feel when it was cropped it didnt look as good as it does now.

Font Type

For my school magazine, on the front cover, my title will be in the font: Plantagenet Cherokee
I have chosen this font because I think it is smart and formal to represent the same look of the school. Also it is a font that isnt too overpowering or unconventional of normal magazines. I didnt want a curly, flicky font or a square, blocky font that wouldnt fit with the look of the elegant school building.

Contents Page Analysis

The picture benind the title on this contents page is from the front cover, and by putting this here it shows continuity between the pages, sticking to the theme and target audience. The background is plain and this makes the page easy to read. The Headings are clear and bold and the sub-headings are a different colour so it is clear to the audience what is within each section. This makes it easy to navigate through the magazine. These are typical conventions of magazine contents pages.

This is a much more formal contents page, it has the schools logo as a transparent image behind the text. The picture is of students at work and therefore fits with the target audience the colour theme is quite smart and business like. The colour gold could connote something wealthy/powerful so this could promote the school as well regarded and acknowledged.
